FAQ's of Two Leg Wire Rope Slings:
Q: How should the Two Leg Wire Rope Sling be used for optimal safety during lifting operations?
A: To ensure safety, always check the Working Load Limit (WLL) of up to 30 tonnes before use and confirm the sling is compatible with the load and lifting configuration. Inspect the slings regularly, maintain the proper angle, and use the fitted end components-eye hook, shackle, or thimble-correctly according to your lifting apparatus.
Q: What materials are used in these wire rope slings, and why are they chosen?
A: These slings are manufactured from galvanized or ungalvanized high tensile steel wire rope, offering strong resistance to wear and heavy loads. Galvanization provides enhanced corrosion resistance, making the sling suitable for challenging or outdoor conditions.
Q: When should these wire rope slings be inspected or replaced?
A: Inspect the sling before every use for visible signs of damage, deformities, kinks, or corrosion. Replace the sling if you notice any visible wear, broken wires, or when it fails to meet standards after periodic assessments. Regular inspections help ensure continued safety and performance.
Q: Where can Two Leg Wire Rope Slings be utilized most effectively?
A: These slings are ideal for shipping yards, construction sites, manufacturing facilities, and general-purpose material handling environments, both indoors and outdoors. Their high tensile strength and customizable lengths make them versatile across various industries.
Q: What is the process for proof load testing these slings?
A: Each wire rope sling undergoes a proof load test, conducted as per industry standards such as EN 12385 and IS 2266. The sling is loaded to a specific force higher than its rated capacity to verify its integrity and ensure it can safely withstand expected working loads.
Q: What are the main benefits of using galvanized wire rope slings with a 5:1 safety factor?
A: Galvanized slings offer outstanding corrosion resistance, making them suitable for harsh environments. The 5:1 safety factor provides an added margin of safety during lifting, ensuring reliability and reducing the risk of failure under load.
Q: How can I determine the correct wire diameter and length for my application?
A: Select the wire diameter and length based on the required working load, lifting environment, and application specifics. Consult load charts or a qualified expert to ensure the sling matches your operational needs, with available options from 6 mm to 40 mm diameter and up to 12 meters in length.
